During the winter months of 2007, the new Florence Air Park came to reality with the final approval from the Town Council. With the support of the Town Staff, Public Works and Parks and Recreation, the work began.  Knochel Brothers Contracting was the major contributor to build the site, donating equipment and labor to complete the job. Sonny Lee donated fencing and a Ramada with Rinker Materials helping with concrete. Dedication of the flying site was on March 1, 2008.  Since then, Ariziona Correctional Industries (ACI) provided materials and services to design, weld and paint portions of the Ramada, bleachers, fence, safety starting tables and solar system.
